"The Present" is not exactly the way you conceive it...

Now…”
The Present!
This very moment you are living, holding your phone in your hands, reading my blog, and thinking word-by-word, exactly what your brain is programmed to think. You may think this moment—right now— is what is exactly happening to you. What if I told you you’re wrong? What if I told you “Its not real...”
The concept of Time & Space is the one which has fascinated many scientists all over the world. Innumerable theories have been put forward, unlimited researches have been done, yet no one till now is able to solve the underlying mystery of the Present. Not even this man :-

In 1963, philosopher Rudolf Carnap had a discussion with Einstein about what Einstein called "the Now." According to him, the problem of Now worried him seriously.
“The experience of the Now means something special for man, something essentially different from the past and the future, but this important difference does not and cannot occur within the constraints of physics. This experience cannot be grasped by science. There is something essential about the Now which is just outside of the realm of science."
There is still no relativity equation in Physics that actually defines the Present.

Now here things become complicated. No matter how much you recall the past or anticipate the future, you live in the present (or rather just in your illusion). Of course, the sentence you are reading right now is no longer happening. This one is… Now this one… Now, the previous sentence you just read is past. Now is the present. Or wait, it's Past too.

  • The actual working of structure...

The space-time is torn between the Past & Future, just like the above paper. The left side of the paper, The Past, is already written. The right side, The Future, is still empty. The hole in between, that's what we call The Present. That's where Science fails. This hole needs to be fixed in order to understand the intricacies of “Now”.

Time flows constructively, in the sense that Past is updating itself continuously. We have a deep intuition that Future is open until it has happened Now and the Present becomes Past (which is fixed), and the Future (which is unperceived) becomes the Present, even before we know. As time flows, the fixed Past, the immediate Present, and the open Future keep on getting updated regularly in an OS called the Time, and it is inevitable…

  • So, what exactly is the "Present"?

In simple words, we can recall the Past, we can dream the Future, but we are still not able to grasp the Present. Hence, it is nothing but an Illusion.
An Illusion of the Past. That's the reason why some say- “What you are doing Right Now has actually been done just 0.0005 milliseconds ago.”

Mind=Blown, right?

This whole universal structure is built into our language, thought and behavior. That's why, we don't realise what's actually going on.

Einstein was not able to find a unified equation of Time. He did, however, show some peculiar facts like- Time runs more slow for a stationary observer, or The greater the Force of Gravity, slower the time flows.

Science (or Physics, to be more precise) is all about objective reality. So scientifically, the Present doesn't really exist at all! And it even doubts our existence in the present space-time. Well, who knows?

The day we are able to grasp the Present, or understand the intricacies of Now, will be the day this world will see it's first Time Machine!

That's why, time never ceases to amaze me…

Fascinating, isn't it?
